PARACAS & BALLESTAS
You will get picked up at your central accommodation in Lima at around 6.00 (time changes depending on location) and board on a tourist bus where a guide will explain you in detail the programme of the day. You will get to Paracas at around 10.00 and start your amazing boat tour to the Ballestas Islands – you will have the chance to see penguins, sea lions and birds in their natural environment. The tour lasts about two hours and back to the shore you will set off to the Paracas National Reserve arriving there at around 14.00. This is one of the largest protected desert reserves in South America and is located along the stunning Pacific coastline. As we start making our way back to Lima, our last stop will be in Chincha. Here you will visit the beautiful estate of the Hacienda San Jose and witness its hidden labyrinth of underground tunnels used to illegally smuggle African slaves during the colonial times. Nowadays Chincha is renowned for its regional food, music and dance that has resulted from this fusion of African and Peruvian cultures. From Chincha we then return to Lima and you will be dropped off at your accommodation late in the evening, 23.45 approximately.
